Lancashire’s top clubs in premiership Pie capture

stadium1However, with the new football season about to kick off, two of Lancashire’s top flight teams have made a real statement of intent with the capture of a home grown talent, with real iconic status – Holland’s Pies.

Holland’s Pies, the North West’s leading producer of pies and puddings, which already supplies fresh pies to a range of top flight sports clubs including Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers, Burnley and Hull City, is now supplying the Manchester City and Bolton Wanderers faithful with their range of ‘big eat’ pies from the start of the new season, thanks to new contracts it has won with the clubs.

Gareth Moores, Commercial Director of Bolton Wanderers, is delighted: “We go to great lengths to ensure that supporters enjoy every aspect of their visit to the Reebok Stadium. In Holland’s Pies, we’ve found a supply partner which will meet our exacting demands for the highest quality of food and service. Holland’s enjoy an iconic status in the North West, so I’m sure the fans will be very encouraged by our latest signing.”

Phil Hardman, Sponsorship and Commercial Director of Manchester City, said: “Sourcing suppliers of the highest standard is critically important to us. We all know how much people in the North West love Holland’s – there was even an appeal for them on one of our message boards – so I’m sure the fans will be ecstatic.”

Neil Court-Johnston, MD of Holland’s Pies said: “We’re delighted to be the no.1 Pie choice for Bolton Wanderers and Manchester City. They are both great traditional Lancashire clubs, with a strong identity in the top flight of football.

stadium3Holland’s is another Lancashire ‘treasure’ and we’re proud to be the fans’ favourite pie. My promise is to deliver the best tasting pies again and again and I’m delighted to welcome Bolton Wanderers and Manchester City to our ever growing Premier League family.”

However, as well as supplying the global players, big names and a host of professional sports clubs, Holland’s are keen to put something back into the ‘grass roots’. That’s why the Baxenden-based company is offering clubs across the North West a chance to get kitted-out for a ‘dream’ season.

The winning clubs will be supplied with full branded kits for all age groups and training gear. They will also benefit from nutritional advice and a custom health and fitness programme from premier league experts. Plus, Holland’s will even provide the pies for their end-of-season presentation!

Neil Court-Johnston explains: “This latest initiative is a great chance for football clubs from across the region to gain the experience and knowledge from premier experts on nutrition and health, plus get new kits for all of their teams!”

He added: “Holland’s are very keen to help develop amateur football across the region, and promote healthy living generally. We want to get across the message that when enjoyed in conjunction with an active lifestyle, a pie or pud can be part of a balanced and healthy diet.”

“Whatever league or activity, we are the sportsman’s pie and the North West is sport mad, so we basically want to be in every football, rugby, cricket club, hockey club around the North West – that is our mission.”

Holland’s employs 370 people at its Lancashire base and is part of Northern Foods. The company enjoys a 60% share of the market in the North West, an area where 92% of people have heard of Holland’s Pies.

To enter, clubs must visit and explain, in no more than 50 words why they deserve Holland’s sponsorship.
